Brewster Shaw
From SpaceWiki
Brewster Shaw has been involved in the space program since 1978. While at NASA, he flew three Space Shuttle missions, and also served in a number of administrative positions related to the Space Shuttle, helping improve safety after the Challenger disaster and eventually rising to the prestigious position of Director, Space Shuttle Operations. Despite this, in 1996 he decided he'd rather move into the private sector to work at Rockwell's defense and aerospace division, which was acquired by Boeing the same year. Shaw then moved around the industry working in various space-related capacities for Rocketdyne, Boeing, United Space Alliance, and Boeing again. (Then again, since Rocketdyne was a Boeing subsidiary at the time, and United Space Alliance is a joint venture between Boeing and Lockheed Martin, one could argue that Shaw didn't ever switch companies at all.) He has worked on both Shuttle-related projects and the International Space Station. His current position is Vice President and General Manager for the Space Exploration subdivision (formerly known as NASA Systems) of the Boeing Defense, Space, and Security division (formerly known as Integrated Defense Systems), a job title that clearly could use a snappy abbreviation.
