National Aeronautics and Space Administration

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is the agency of the United States Government responsible for the nation's civilian space program, as well as aeronautics and astronautics research.

NASA was created by the National Aeronautics and Space Act on July 29th, 1958, which absorbed the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics NACA into itself, along with several other space programs run by various agencies, such as the Army ABMA program run by Wernher von Braun.
